I offer for sale an original and rare, early 19th century, 'Stove-Pipe' Shako for a French Artillery Officer, possibly of an 1830's pattern.

The basin is constructed of pressed board, the exterior covered in black fur lining, with bullion tape at the crown.
Bullion wire insignia, the artillery button with crossed cannons thereon is purely 'associated' and not original to the helmet. The tri-colour cockade behind the button is a replacement. Black fabric tape at the bottom of the hat.
Interior: Original sweatband present, but cracked overall. Leather brim painted green on the underside. Shako showing wear and scuffs commensurate with it's age, but generally in very good condition. Priced accordingly at £590+pp
