The ECW hilt design similar in design to the Type 91 (c.1630 - 1650). This magnificent sword is in what can only be described as museum condition and has a 94.5cm long, flattened diamond section blade incised IN SOLINGEN in the short central fullers.
The semi-basket hilt is a characteristic transitional dish hilt with scalloped rim, pierced and chiselled with geometric designs and drawing up to the mid-point of the D-shaped knuckle guard, scroll quillon with two scroll supports secured to the dish.
Elongated reeded ovoid pommel (missing button?), wire bound grip with Turk's heads. Second quarter 17th Century. Private collection number disc 17.
