This is magnificent example of a 17th century Dueling Rapier, from a Private UK Collection and in excellent museum condition throughout.
The sword has a 102.5cm long, flattened diamond section blade, characteristic dish-hilt pierced and chiselled with latticework, turned 'piecrust' rim, slender rounded quillons with scroll terminals, reeded ovoid pommel, wire bound grip with Turk's heads. Second quarter 17th Century. Collection disc number 6.
