For sale: a stunningly good Norfolk landscape of a windmill on a hill overlooking the sea, by listed Victorian artist - Philip F. Walker R.A. R.B.A. This fine oil on canvas was painted by Walker in 1887, in a fast, fresh open style, showing a town to the left of the mill and the sea as a backdrop, the sky and clouds have been wonderfully captured by the artist. The painting sits in a complimentary, hand-finished and hand-coloured new gallery frame, measuring 36 inches by 31 inches and is signed and dated lower left.
Walker was a painter in oils, of landscapes, portraits and marine subjects, who exhibited his work at the Royal Academy and the New Gallery. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists and the Ridley Art Club.
