A magnificent, English made Smallsword, circa 1780, superb blackened steel, lattice-work design, double dish-guard. The knuckle-guard has both pierced and engraved decoration, as has the pommel, which is a hollow sphere.

Grip untouched, having it's original wraps of steel bands and wire intact. The blade is wonderfully firm in the hilt.

The straight, 35 inches long blade, is of hollow, triangular cross-section with a Colichemarde ricasso. This sword is in wonderful condition for it's age. An 18th century gentleman of some quality would have been proud to carry such a weapon!
