I offer for sale an original and rare 'Restoration Period' (circa 1816 - 1830 period), French 48th of the Line Infantry, 'Other Ranks' Shako.

The base of the helmet is of an 1822 pattern and the helmet plate is an earlier - 1816 Legion Department plate. The helmet has Fusilier chin-scales.

It has it's original white cockade, however the yellow pom pom, chin-scale liners, brim and lower band are possibly reproduction replacements.

Still a magnificent specimen of a Shako from this period and well worth the asking price of £650+pp
