Original watercolour by the famous, British painter, Thomas Bush Hardy R.B.A. and R.A., signed and dated to 1891. The signature is authentic and the painting was originally purchased from an auction house as an original by Hardy. This charming little watercolour depicts a couple of fishing boats being towed out of harbour by a Steam Tugboat, with people on the harbour-side watching. As a young man Hardy travelled to the Netherlands and Italy to learn his craft, he also painted in England and the French ports and even on the Venetian Lagoon. His speciality was coastal and fishing scenes. This painting is in excellent condition and measures: 55cm x 38cm framed. Hardy's paintings are highly collectable and his work often appears at auction at Christies; Bonhams and Sotherbys.
